2 years & 3 months

Okay, funny story. My sister-in-law tagged me on the 4th file, 4th picture thing. I've actually done it before, but since I'm forever trying to organize my pictures, it was a different photo. And, this is it.

This is a picture of my wedding ring with the 2nd band Justin bought for our 1st anniversary.

I really miss this ring. I didn't exactly lose it, I seem to have lost the finger it goes on. I'm working on it though, and hope to have it back soon.

The reason I found this picture so interesting is the fact that our 2nd anniversary is tomorrow. Yep... 2 years. A far cry from my parents' 30... but we have had an eventful 2 years.

We were married February 22, 2007 At the Salt Lake Temple.

The reception was at The Tower @ Rice Eccles Stadium

Honeymoon in Paris...

And London.

Two siblings weddings

A graduation ceremony

The first of 3 businesses bought or started

A niece was born (and celebrated her 1st birthday)

Too many family pictures to count

We bought a house

One brother on a mission

A new position at work for Justin, and he started working from home. (This is him in our newly finished office putting together his new desk)

I changed offices at work, and recently quit after 4 and a half years.

We've been on a LOT of vacations...

Las Vegas

California

Jackson Hole (a few times)

Mexico

And finally... on our two year anniversary our son turns 3 months old.

10 days old

Who knows what the next year will bring...

A sight for sore eyes

... and body.

I actually made it to the gym today. I haven't been for about 3 months -the longest stretch for almost 5 years. We actually let our gym membership run out right before the Little Man was born. With a really big check coming on Friday (all of my vacation hours) we figured we could take advantage of the savings when you buy a few years at a time.

With the new membership we can use the daycare, so I took the Little Man with me. I only worked out for about 40 minutes, and I think he did okay, but I was a little nervous. They have a nanny cam -but you can only see the older kids playing, not the section where they have the infants. That didn't keep me from staring at the TV the whole time though, trying to see him.

I think I'll use it from time to time, but we might stick with having Justin watch him for an hour or so... at least until he's a little bit older. It made me realize how grateful that I don't have to go back to work and for the (really) short time I went back we had family willing to take him (Thanks Shondel -I still owe you lunch or something for watching him that day).

Sorry mom.. no new photo's, I guess you'll have to come and see him tomorrow!

Yet another cake

My parents have been married for 30 years. Yep... that's right THIRTY years. That's quite an accomplishment. Jodi thought it would be fun to have family over to celebrate, so that's what we did yesterday.
I made the cake, Jodi did the party favors and got the other goodies (along with my parents, since she was a little laid up from a recent surgery), and the rest of the participants provided the entertainment.

We came up with some newlywed game-type questions to see how well my parents new each other (along with the rest of the couples -including my grandparents who have been married for almost 54 years).

I should have written down some of the answers, because they were pretty funny.

When asked 'who hogs the bed covers' my dad answered no one, and my mom said Kim. They both said that my dad would pay off the house if he came into a large sum of money, and agreed that my mom's dream car is a big truck (which she currently is driving). A few of the questions weren't matched up so well, my dad said their favorite vacation was Colorado, while my mom chose New Zealand, and neither of them could remember what they gave each other for their 1st anniversary. My mom figured my dad would want his cell phone on a desert island (for his scriptures and music)... while my dad opted for something a little more practical, an umbrella.

I think it was a fun evening, and everyone was a good sport by playing along (even my grandpa!). The Little Man was, as expected, the hit of the party... enjoy some pictures if him in a Valentines outfit.
And... to answer Haleys question (someone else asked me too)... the countdown is for Phoenix. Me and the boy are flying to see my friend Kathy next month.

NOT one of my favorite moments

In the past 10 weeks I've had a lot of really good and fun moments.

When the Little Man really smiled for the first time.
When he makes that sucking motion when he's completely asleep.

How content he is in the bath.

When all he wants to do is stare at me when he's eating.

Yesterday was NOT a very good moment. It's not like I'm unique in the situation, but next time I'm bringing someone with me.

We had the Little Man's 2 month check up.
12 lbs 12 oz

23 3/4 in long

And 3 shots in the leg.

I don't think it was one of his favorite moments either.

25 Random Things

This has been going around facebook, and I've been tagged a few times. I kept thinking about this post, and didn't think I'd have anything to say. But, I guess my life is a little different now, so I'll give it a shot. (Plus it's 4:30 am and it looks like the Little Man is in no mood to sleep!)

1-I've eaten lambs tails, pig brain, and fish eyes. I don't recommend any of them!

2-I have really long toes. A couple of friends call them 'finger toes'.

3-I love feeling 'out of it'. If I didn't have the morals/values that I have, I'm pretty sure I'd have some serious addiction issues.

4-I went to Paris and London on my honeymoon.

5-I've had 21 'kids' that I've worked with in 4+ years at the state. That's a small number. I had most of them the majority if the time I worked there.

6-I had a dog named Barney. It was before the dinosaur, and he died of worms after we had him for just a few weeks.

7-I have a fear of falling and hitting my teeth on the ground. It makes me hurt just thinking about it.

8-I'm afraid of heights- unless it's a roller coaster -then I love it!

9- I love reading blogs. My google reader has over 100 blogs I follow. I don't know what I'm going to do when I'm not forced in front of a computer (feeding the Little Man) for hours a day.

10-I have commitment issues when it comes to material things and contracts. Gym memberships, cell phone company's, buying anything over $100...

11-I've had a subscription to US Weekly for years. I didn't renew it recently. I know fewer and fewer celebrities featured on the pages and care less and less about them.

12-I'm addicted to playing games on my computer. It's only gotten worse since having a baby.

13-Growing up I wanted to be a dentist, a lawyer, a teacher, a psychologist, and a mom. Never a caseworker.

14-I am still friends with people I was friends with in kindergarten.

15-I've thought about home-schooling my children. Probably won't though.

16-I would like to learn how to take better photographs.

17-I hate to (and hardly ever) iron my clothes.

18-I love going to lunch with friends. I would everyday if I had the time and the money.

19-I hate being late. I get anxious and ornery whenever I'm going to be late -especially if it's someone else's fault.

20-After driving around the Salt Lake Valley for 4 years, I've become incredibly good at predicting driving times. I think it bugs Justin, but I'm almost always right.

21-I LOVE getting pedicures. This is another thing I would do more often given the time and money.

22-My son was born at 2:09 am. And, we stayed in room 209 on the maternity ward.

23-I like trying new recipes, either baking or cooking. Cooking seems more like a chore to me, so I guess I would say I like baking better.

24- I've had 3 surgeries... Appendix, Sinuses, and my tailbone.

25-I spent my 21st birthday in Las Vegas.

5 Generations

I don't normally post twice in one day... but check this out.

This is the Little Man's dad, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great grandma. 5 generations.
(We actually had ANOTHER 5 generation line when he was born, but never got the photo.)

A Packed House

Just about the time most people were filling their houses with Superbowl guests, mine was clearing out. We blessed the little man in church yesterday and had family over afterwards. I think we had about 50 people there. Thankfully we had great mom's, aunts, and cousins -so we had plenty of food. And I, of course, overbought on sandwiches and salad, so if you're wondering what Justin and I will be eating this week... don't.

I think my mom and dad described the day better than I can here. It was a wonderful day spent with family and friends. Thanks to all who helped out, we really appreciate it. The Little Man is well-loved!
