Things I love

Not a Valentines post.  I have nothing against the holiday, now or even when I was single.  It's a nice holiday to make a special effort to do or say or get something nice to those you love. Or like.  Or are supposed to love or like.  Or go to school with.  One year when all (most) of my guy friends were on missions I went to the post office and sent 11 small boxes to elders.  That's right, eleven.  The clerk was pretty interested in that fact.  The next time I sent a bunch of things off I broke it up to several different trips.

Anyway... on to things I love.  (Sort of valentine-y but not really) In no particular order:

-Going to the gym.  Love it.  I love exercising, working up a sweat, pushing myself, and time away from kids and the house.  For all of those things I love going to the gym.

-Radio from Hell.  I've listened to the same radio station since I was 13 years old.  So... going on 14 years.  I never 'scan' in the car.  In fact, I've never figured out my sound system in the van, which I'm okay with.  I just leave it at 96.3 all the time (or listen to CDs/iPhone).  I love the morning show, I don't always agree with them, (although I normally do) but they're very entertaining.  I'll probably switch to NPR when the three of them finally retire.

-Honey crisp apples.  I've just discovered these.  I used to like Granny smith apples, but more for the texture/crispness of them, not so much the taste.  A little while ago I found Pink Lady's and really liked those.  Until I tried Honeycrisp.  They are what an apple should be.  Sweet.  Crisp.  Juicy.  Delicious.  I love them.
-Amazon Prime.  Dear mothers before the internet - ??? How in the world did you EVER get anything done or purchased.  Seriously.  We finally signed up for the prime part of Amazon and it's awesome.  When I remember I need something at 3 am for $5.99 I can order it, no shipping, and it arrives in 2 days.  Awesome.

-Pinterest.  I use it 95% for recipes.  And lately I use it for food porn.  When you're off sugar and anything fatty, it's nice to look at all the foods you'd like to eat.  It's my nightly ritual.  That and the humor section.  It almost always makes me laugh.

-Dishwashers.  Every once in a while when I'm loading or unloading the dishwasher for the third time in the day that I probably wouldn't cook or bake if I had to wash dishes by hand.

-Salt Lake County Library app.  I don't buy books anymore, haven't for years.  I probably buy one or two a year (except children's books).  I love getting books (even dvd's) from the library. And I love being able to renew books on the app when I can't find or don't want to look for one of the kids books.  Which happens a lot.

-My chromebook.  It's lightweight, turns on as quick as a tablet, keeps a charge forever, and does nearly everything I need a computer for (I can't get the amazon prime app on it, and I just ordered (from Amazon) an external dvd drive for the 4 times a year that I need to upload or download or whatever you do with cds/dvds.

-Sleep.  Is there anyone out there that doesn't like sleep?  I love it.  I look forward to it from about mid-morning every day.  I don't know what my kids problems are with nap and bedtimes.  Seriously.  Nap times are wasted on the young.

Okay... that's enough.  I'm off to make one of other kids go to bed when they don't want to.
